5 Songs Released in 2020 to Add to Your Workout Playlist!

It’s #musicmonday! My goal is to share something music related every other Monday. As a working mother of 4 and wife, one of my biggest stress relievers is listening to music. I believe that music brings us all together, because it resonates with life experiences and has the ability to put you at ease or cause you to turn up. Whatever mood you are in, you can find music that will relate to how you are feeling. Due to that it’s one of my favorite past times. I know many of you are hopping back into fitness and I wanted to share some motivational songs, and a couple of ratchet ones to keep you hype as you work out.

Let’s get into it!

Please note the song/artist names highlighted connect to the songs on Itunes.

Muwop (feat. Gucci Mane) by Mulatto on Apple Music Now granted this song is a little ratchet, but a little rachetness never hurt anybody. The aggressive lyrics with the sampled beat that you are familiar with is enough to keep you hype in the gym or your at home gym. My favorite line on this song is graphic, but she has me too hype on this song. Also remember you can listen to the clean version if the explicit version is too much. Also just about everything on the Queen of the South is lit. Seek all of your ratchet needs on that album.

Go Crazy by Chris Brown and Young Thug This song blew up in 2020. Something about that chorus that makes you want to let loose and go crazy just like the song suggests. The beat is memorable and overall is just a feel good song. I mean Chris rarely does wrong with his singles and this one doesn’t disappoint. This song was one that resonated with all ages, sexes, and races as evident to all the people that participated in the Go Brazy challenge. Again proof that music unites.

Crown by Chika This song is probably brand new to you. I found Chika doing dope rhymes on Instagram and her rhymes are still dope. This song has a church feel, we are talking choir in the background, but I would listen to it while working out because the lyrics are so motivational. I think it would be dope for step aerobics. The chorus hits..

“I'ma make it in the rain or shine
All about my money, don't waste my time
Ain't nobody gonna bring me down
I'm on an elevator
I'm on to something greater
Ain't nobody gonna take my crown” I mean she did that. Her song Balencies would also be good in the gym.

You got it by Vedo He was on my 5 R&B artists you need to know list. Since then this song has went gold and has had tons of radio play. I am happy for him as he has been grinding for years. This song became an anthem for women because of the pre chorus:

“It's time to boss up
Fix yo credit, girl get at it
Get ya bag up
Hit that gym and get back fine
Go get that degree, go girl
Focus on me
Unlock potential that you didn't know you had in you” Definitely some affirmations that will keep you focused while working out. Also all the songs on this album are good.

Superpower by Kirby and D Smoke This song is slightly slower, but I would vibe to it on the treadmill. Just the entire message of us having super powers is something I can get behind. Not to mention Kirby's voice is so original it just grabs your attention. The confident, clear cadence of D Smoke’s rhymes is everything. Both of these artists have some great music, check them both out you won’t be disappointed.

Enjoy! I hope you found a new song to add to your playlist. What is a must have song on your workout playlist?
