Book Round Up-Books I Read in the Month of March!

If you follow me on Instagram then you know I am a book lover. If you found me organically, I am a reader that LOVES fiction. I enjoy reading stories that allow me to escape the realities of my world. Some of these books I do find myself relating to and in others they are just good reads and I enjoy following the characters. Somewhere along my book journey I fell in love with book series. It allows me to hold on to a group of characters, but learn more about their individual stories and how it all ties together. In some cases this may lead to cliff hangers and in other cases you are learning about another character within a group i.e. siblings, friends, or teammates. I don’t mind either, for me it’s interesting to see how the author will tie everything together.

I recommended some series in this Instagram reel.

What you all have been waiting for….here are all the books I read this month with my synopsis or review about each book. The titles of the books link you directly to purchase the books and I receive a small commission for any purchases. Let’s get into all the books I read during the month of March.

Romulus (A St. Claire Novel Book 3) by Tina Martin 4.0 out of 5 stars Friends to lovers

Romulus was interesting....reserved yet passionate, passive yet intense. There aren't many men that proactively work on their issues in order to be whole for their partner. That in itself is an act of love. For two people that had been friends for so long they struggled with communication. Siderra was so deeply in love with him that she had to start shutting down to move on. It was illogical to me...have a real conversation. Pushing him away results in the same broken friendship she was trying to avoid by being honest. I didn't understand the approach. I get she was trying to protect her heart, but her actions still left her vulnerable. The whole dating situation with Jamar was a hot mess. It felt like she wanted him to be loyal to her even though she wasn't feeling him. Chile she was on my nerves. Rom was nerve wrecking too, he had been working on himself and instead of saying that he says nothing to her after she finally shares her feelings. There were some up and down moments, but ultimately it was a decent story.

Regal (A St. Claire Novel Book 4) by Tina Martin 4.0 out of 5 stars Wedded Bliss

Regal and Felicity have been dodging each other in all the previous books. Regal teased and bothered her and Felicity tried to avoid him as much as possible. Regal finally decided he wanted to seriously pursue her, but instead of just asking her out on a date he had to be extra. Unbeknownst to Felicity he was slowly getting to know her and getting her comfortable with him. This story is wild because Felicity's life was a mess and behind the scenes Regal was helping put the pieces back together. She was unable to truly understand his feelings for her. This was not your typical love story, and I enjoyed all of the nuances of them finding love in each other.

Everything I Desire by B. Love 4.0 out of 5 stars Love Prevails

Arabella fed off of being in relationships. It was rare for her to be single for long periods of time, which meant that she settled for less than ideal situations. Bella begins questioning why she has stayed with her current beau for so long when they only seemed to connect physically. As that relationship spirals, she has a life changing encounter with Denzel. Denzel was dream worthy, but also self sabotaging. He avoided relationships because be was focused om being stable financially. After meeting Bella he begin to think differently. There connection was....Hot! The author held no punches describing their chemistry. More importantly they seemed to be the yin to each others yang. This quote summed it up for me.."Letting her go was hard. Thinking about life without her for forever was even harder." Denzel was truly #teambella and rooted for her to pursue her dreams even when it was hard.
The only thing that kept me from giving it 5 stars was the level of "sponsorship" felt unrealistic. Especially with the time length of the relationships.
It was a sweet, quick read and I would recommend it.

Down Under (Phillips Brother Book 2) by Donna Alam 4.0 out of 5 stars Love Unexpectedly

Amber is turning the BIG 30 and all she wants is a hot, sexy memorable night with a fine man. She gets all of that and more. Their paths cross again unexpectedly and her unknown man is thrown for a loop. Byron is wealthy, angry, and heart broken. Life had been rough and the hand he was dealt wasn't the outcome he had wished for. When Amber, this sweet temptation returns he doesn't know how to handle their chemistry. It was a good read and I'm definitely going to read all of the brothers' stories as well.

Rafferty’s Rules (Phillips Brothers Book 3) by Donna Alam 4.0 out of 5 stars Rules of the heart

I enjoyed Rafferty and Lissa's love story. It was far from typical and hard to believe considering the way they met. Tee was immediately giving and protective over Lissa. He was so sweet to her even though that wasn't his usual nature. Lissa had been through a big life change and I was worried how this all would pan out for her. Although she seemed to be nonchalant I could tell her feelings were bigger than she realized. Ultimately it is a sweet story of course with some push and pull, but I loved them together.

The Perfect First (Fultun U) by Maya Hughes 5.0 out of 5 stars Conquering firsts through love

Persephone was special, a math genius, innocent, with a fun spirit. She started off quite the naive girl and I was genuinely worried about her decision making. She was a caterpillar dying to become a butterfly. She came across quirky and unique and I liked everything about her and so did Reece. The big time wide receiver who was loved by everyone but was laser focused on his career. Until Seph slowly dug into his skin. Together they were able to see things from different perspectives. I enjoyed reading their love journey.

The Second we Met: An enemies to lovers romance (Fultun U) by Maya Hughes 5.0 out of 5 stars Don't judge a book by it's cover

I was eager to read Nix's story because it was clear in the last book that he had derailed the expected path everyone had for him. Nix was an all around good guy....smart, handsome, caring, and extremely talented. As the star quarterback of Fulton U there were so many preconceived notions about who he was. Elle was a cheerleader in high school turned do gooder in college. Her families once comfortable life went south and had her barely hanging on. Elle was fun, unique, hard working, and a hard a$#. Not many people got to see her fun side because she was so focused. Nix and Elle had been unfriendly neighbors for a few years, after crossing paths unexpectedly they realized that they had chemistry. I really enjoyed this story because Nix was nothing like I expected him to be. He was genuinely good to Elle even when she was scared and thought she wasn't good enough for him. This story and the bonus story gave me everything I needed.

The Third Best Thing (Fultun U) by Maya Hughes 5.0 out of 5 stars Loving the REAL you

This book was so good. I have loved every book in this series and I recommend reading them in order. Jules was a boss babe even if she didn't know it. She was sweet, kind, multi talented and unfortunately insecure. I loved that she was a lover of words and how that love inadvertently led her to be bold when she was normally more reserved. She was head over heels for Berk and boy was it complicated.
Berk, sweet Berk had a rough childhood. It was masked by his big outer appearance and carefree attitude. Truth was his insecurities about who he was, was always in the background. However, he didn't let that get in the way of his feelings for Jules. He was just so sweet and protective of her.
Together they were finding themselves and getting stronger at accepting who they were as individuals. At the same time embracing who they were as a couple. Through all the tests their love was beautiful and I wanted more from the extended story.

The Fourth Time Charm: A Friends to lovers romance by Donna Alam 5.0 out of 5 stars More than friends

I enjoyed this entire series. The author did a good job weaving the stories together, but still allowing the books to stand on their own. However, I am glad to have read them in order, it helped me understand the dynamic of all the relationships. Marisa and LJ had known each other for most of their lives. They both had been through life changing experiences, but came out on the other side together. While they had stuck each other in the friend zone, everyone else around them saw and felt their chemistry before they could admit it to themselves. Marisa, sweet, brave, resilient Marisa was doing her best to find her own path. Not having the ideal childhood left her questioning herself and the people's motives around her. LJ was an all around good guy....caring, sweet, a little worrisome, and a giver. He had a beautiful family that he desired to take care of, including Marisa. They really fought themselves doing everything to avoid messing up their friendship, but ultimately love wins because for so long they were more than friends.

Bomb by Danielle James 4.0 out of 5 stars Flower Bomb

This was an interesting read. Bellamy had a rough childhood and was always on the defense. Her beautiful exterior was contradictory to the storm of anger and sadness running through her on the inside. She was everything men wanted or fantasized about, but it was always temporarily. No one truly wanted her. Cyrus was conflicting...he wanted to be a man of God, but he was still rough around the edges. He was being tempted daily and he wasn't handling the pressure well. Not to mention he was easy on the eyes, drop dead gorgeous, so attention was easy to find even when it was unwanted. Bellamy and Cyrus together were like fireworks. They had a crazy connection but seemed to bring out good in each other. I enjoyed their journey together...even though I felt Bellamy deserved more time to find herself as a woman. I will definitely read the next story.

For the rest of the year at the end of each month I will share all of the books I read to provide you suggestions of what may be your next read!
