Gained some weight and have nothing to wear??

Over the past 9 years, each year I have been slowly gaining weight. I am now at the point where I am uncomfortable and I really need to lose weight. However, I KNOW I need to lose weight, but have yet to get consistent with working out. To be real, I don’t like to work out and I really like to eat. Food is delicious and it makes me happy. That said, I have to get disciplined and serious about losing weight. I am going to have to give something up, probably bread and I am so sad. Lord help me. In the mean time, I’m still fly. Hell, I text my husband the other day and said yo wife is a BADDIE! I meant every word of it too.

I don’t have too many bottoms that I can really fit, but I don’t really want to buy all new jeans. I need to lose weight and figure out where my new body is going to lead me, but I tell you the current one is not staying. She ain’t welcome. In the mean time, I have bought new graphic tees that I can actually fit. I have about 3 pair of jeans and for the most part I wear sweats or joggers throughout the week. When I want to get fully dressed, I have a cheat code.

My cheat code is that I have 3 sons and a husband. My boys are growing like weeds and I have been inheriting their clothes. I also have been stealing some fresh stuff that they still wear. Don’t tell anyone, I put it back. Hubs absolutely hates when I wear his clothes, but I can’t help that I look better in his shirts than he does. So, ladies if you have some teenage boys, a husband, or a boyfriend make sure to check out their clothes as you transition. I have found that the cut of men’s clothes is much more forgiving than women’s clothing.

If you do want to get a few bottoms, boyfriend and mom jeans have been good to me. Again the fit of these jeans are more forgiving and are looser around the waste. I have a pair of skinny jeans that I can actually fit still because they stretch and they are a random brand, union bay that I got from JC Penney on sale. I also have some polyester pants, I don’t know what they are but they stretch at the waist down the leg they are khakis and are the rue 21 brand…life savers. There are also sweaters and cardigans that are oversized and give you a chic look while keeping you comfortable as you transition into your new body.

As we get older our hormones shift and our body changes. I encourage you to do what you need to do to feel comfortable. However, it is important to embrace the stage you are in while finding the strength and discipline to change. We are beautiful in all stages of our lives. So, beautiful stay strong and let’s make sure we are finding ways to stand in who we are.

Below you can see a few looks where I am wearing tops that I have gotten from the males in my family. The looks are very tomboy chic, which is my style anyway but at the same time I still feel feminine.
